child's black jumper

December 2006

Fabric and materials:
Black Boucle fabric left over from my coat
Pink lining
Black fleece

Pattern:
Drafted own pattern

I had a lot of material left over from my black boucle coat so I decided to make my 5 year old goddaughter a jumper for Christmas. I drafted a patttern by tracing around one of her jumpers that already fit. I make a quick mock-up to try it on her. The jumper was pretty simple to put together. I cut out the boucle and flannel and sewed them together. I sewed the pieces together and did the same with the lining. I then sewed the necklines together and flipped the lining to the inside. I hand stitched the armholes closed and hemmed the bottom. I added 3 pink buttons to the front of the jumper.
